Peterborough Cathedral

Sue and I with our friend David visited Peterborough Cathedral on the 5th August. A really nice Cathedral

Peterborough Cathedral, is the Cathedral Church of St Peter, St Paul and St Andrew. It was made a cathedral by Henry VIII after his first wife Catherine of Aragon was buried there. It was also the initial resting place of Mary Queen of Scots. Later her body was moved by her son, James 1st, to Westminster Abbey.

Margate Carnival 2014

Weekend in Margate with My Son and his family.

August 3rd, 2014 - Margate Carnival.

I was really looking forward to seeing this carnival again. BUT, something did not go to plan.

Just after the carnival started one of the leading ambulances left the procession and drove with the blues and twos off in front. The procession then stopped for about 15 minutes and did not really get going again.

About two hours later it finished.

The whole essence of the carnival spirit was lost with the slow / stationary procession. A lot of the acts and floats did try to keep the carnival atmosphere going but was such a shame that the event did not go as planned.I tried to surf and find out what happened but no news.

Here are a few pictures that I took.
