Swings Multiple Exposure

A couple of Wednesdays ago I was left in charge of Beanie for the day. After taking Aiden to school we decided to go to the play park.

I did not have any intension of taking photos and I only had my Sony RX100 mkiv with me. While she enjoyed the rides (the girl has no-fear) I though I might do a bit of high speed capture with the intension of blending the images together in Photoshop (a bit like the 'in the round' images I have been playing with)

The RX100 has quite a fast motor drive and I was surprised how may shots came from each short exposure.

In Photoshop I played with different Smart Object Stack Modes and different blending modes. Fascinating subject.

Infrared Grandchild

Introducing 7 of 9, Evelyn aka Beanie.

I been looking at Infrared Portraits on Instagram and today my 'willing model' was Beanie.

A few pictures all processed in Photoshop. The ones with 'brown skies' where infrared with 'normal false colouration', The ones with 'grey skies' where where I channel swapped the blue and the red and reduced the saturation on the blue channel.

Today I was looking for milky white skin with jet black eyes. I was quite please with the results, have a look for your self.

The jet black eyes, so called dead eye can be quite disturbing. I am looking at techniques to bring a bit of life back into the eyes. More experimentation :)

National Memorial Arboretum

I was sure I had already posted this collection. Last October ago Sue and I and a few others from the Cambridge Camera Club visited the National Memorial Arboretum.

To quote wikipedia

The National Memorial Arboretum is Britain's year-round national site of remembrance at Alrewas, near Lichfield, Staffordshire, United Kingdom. It is a spiritually uplifting place which honours the fallen, recognises service and sacrifice, and fosters pride in the British Armed Forces and civilian community.
I decided to shoot the day on my Infrared Camera (At the time this was my Canon 20D)

Flatford Mill

Back in April after spending an enjoyable weekend in Dovercourt and Harwich with friends, Sue and I travelled bak home via Flatford Mill.

Flatford mill is a Grade 1 Listed building and managed by the National Trust and situated in East Bergolt, Suffolk. It sits on the River Stour.

It is also the location of John Constables famous Hay Wain and other famous paintings.

You can visit the wikipedia entry for Flatford mill HERE

... and also look at the National Trusts entry HERE

It was a cold wet afternoon, we had a quick wander and then decided on lunch. We then had another walk after lunch.

When we where first married we had posters of Constables Hay Wain and Sainsbury Cathedral on our walls, I supposed much like many people in the 70's. It was great to see the place in person.

Although Constables painting are colourful I felt moved to create mono pictures of some of the views I took. Probably due to the overcast and wet weather.
