At Alnwick Castle there were a number of Gardens, Sue and I visited two, the Rose garden (the scent was amazing) and at the top of the 'hill' was an Ornamental Garden. These photos are from those two locations.

Northumberland - Post #07 - Alnwick Gardens Water Features
I would highly recommend a visit to Alnwick if you go to Northumberland. There is a wonderful bookshop (No pictures) and the Gardens at Alnwick Castle. We did not go into the castle but the gardens are very good. This post shows the water features that are in abundance.
