Sunflowers - Beauty in Decay

One of our cats (Oreo) died a couple of weeks ago at the ripe old age of 17. Sue brought a bunch of sunflowers to cheer us up a bit.

I did not get round to taking photos when they were in their prime but as I was throwing them away I could still see the beauty

Duets

I have been working on a set of photographic composites where I take a photo of person at our Portraiture Group, Flip it and composite in a pleasing way (to me) and then adding a larger view of the models face, combining with textures either taken from the clothing or some random place I have visited. I have called the Project 'Duets'

Brutalist Car Park - Northampton

I have started taking an interest in Brutalist Architecture. Wikipedia defines this as ...

Brutalist architecture flourished from 1951 to 1975, having descended from the modernist architectural movement of the early 20th century. The term originates from the French word for "raw", as Le Corbusier described his choice of material béton brut, meaning raw concrete in French.Architects Alison and Peter Smithson introduced the term "Brutalism" to the English-speaking world in the 1950s and it became more widely used after British architectural critic Reyner Banham titled his 1966 book, The New Brutalism, using the term "Brutalism" to identify the style.

Not all the photos below show the Brutal Aspect of this car park in Northampton, I was attracted by the colour and abstract design of the building and the patterns that cars make on the surface.
