Greenwich - The Cutty Sark Figurehead Collection

After a long day walking round Greenwich we decided to have a cup of tea before heading off to find a restaurant to have dinner. You can walk under the hull of the Cutty Sark and this is where the cafe is situated. Just at the end of this area I came across a collection of Figureheads. I have since found out this is the largest collection of Merchant figureheads in the world. Its called 'The Long John Silver Collection of Figureheads'. They are truly beautiful works of art.

Greenwich - The Cutty Sark

The Cutty Sark is mored in Greenwich and is a very famous ship of its time. To quote Wikipedia :-

'Cutty Sark is a British clipper ship. Built on the River Clyde in 1869 for the Jock Willis Shipping Line, she was one of the last tea clippers to be built and one of the fastest, coming at the end of a long period of design development, which halted as sailing ships gave way to steam propulsion'.
