URBEX Adventure

Back in January I had the opportunity to go to a house a friend of mine had inherited. The house had been owned by an elderly gentleman who I had met a number of times over the last 30 years or so. He had moved to the house some 40 or 50 years ago with his mother. His mother died soon after. He lived in just one room so the rest of the house remained virtually untouched.

There is a genre of photography called Urbex. The quote below is from Wikipedia

"Urban exploration (often shortened as urbex or UE) is the exploration of man-made structures, usually abandoned ruins or not usually seen components of the man-made environment. Photography and historical interest/documentation are heavily featured in the hobby"
I have often wanted the opportunity to do some urban exploration. The URBEX Photography community is very secretive about the locations of deserted building etc so its not easy to find the opportunity. I jumped at this chance to visit the house.

This is the first of two posts. The second one will have monochrome images.
