Flooding at Sutton Gault

These photos were taken on the 13th January at Sutton Gault and show the flooding. Not an unusual circumstance. I spoke to one resident of Sutton Gault as he walked back over the 'bridge' beside the road. The water runs fast here as this point is the narrowest part of the flood plain. The water had dropped about 4 inches in the previous few days. He told me the area was flooded in March 1947, after a breach of the barrier bank along the River Great Ouse, at Over and the river rose a further 4 feet from what we saw this year.
